Christmas tree recycling program

The holidays are almost over, and those who bought a real Christmas tree can participate in the El Paso County Solid Waste Management Department’s Treecycle program.The Treecycle program starts Jan. 1 and concludes the following weekend, Jan. 8 and Jan. 9. Drop off hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. each day.The cost is $5, and all profits support Youth Sports Programs. Please note the following drop off locations:

  • MCI World Com – 30th Street and Garden of the Gods
  • Memorial Park – Union Boulevard and Pikes Peak Avenue
  • Sky Sox Stadium – Powers Boulevard and Tutt
  • Cottonwood Park – Dublin and Montarbor
  • Rocky Top Resources – 1755 East Las Vegas. Rocky Top will be open for Christmas tree recycling beginning Dec. 27 and ending Jan. 31, 2005. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and closed on Sundays.
There will be equipment loaded mulch available at Rocky Top Resources for $5 per cubic yard, and also there will be free self-serve mulch, while supplies last available at all the other locations during open hours.
