Rains washed out roads in El Paso County

County officials scrambled to fix roads, including Falcon Highway and Garrett Road because of this summer’s heavy rains. The county reported flooding damage on more than 210 square miles, recording 25 “trouble” sites within the area. Officials said, “It was the worst flooding in El Paso County since 1999.” The cost in one day to repair the roads was $200,000, according to a report by the Colorado Department of Transportation.County roads that had to be repaired included Falcon and Garrett Roads. On Aug. 12, according to a county report, most of the roads had been repaired.
