The Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning hosts Gallery Night

Over 200 people attended a pig roast and silent auction at the Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning on Thurs., May 20. The event featured classroom exhibits, like a display of pioneer and garden books, civil war presentations and hero investigations; musical entertainment; a silent auction that consisted of many items, from bird baths to candles,; more than 40 businesses contributed to the silent auction. One of the evenings’ highlights was the “Wagons West” kindergarten play, written by Kate Wilson, performed by her class. Money raised from the silent auction will go towards the purchase of new resources for math, reading and spelling classes.Principal Rich Sinclair said, “We still have a few openings in next year’s third through eighth grade classes.” He encouraged anyone interested to contact him at 683-9544. Sinclair said the community advisory committee for next year is forming and their first meeting will be held the second week of June.
