Rumors

Once again, our lead rumor involves the Falcon Town Center.

  • Rumor (from the developer) is the Falcon Town Center opening date is still around April 1. And JDS Real Estate representatives told us the center is leased to its capacity.
  • We’ve heard rumors there will be a small Italian restaurant in addition to Dominos Pizza and Frankie’s Too.
  • We also heard a rumor that another paper might be coming to Falcon. Hmmm!
  • Send us the local (clean) scuttlebutt – we’ll publish first and research later!
Facts
  • In 1986, Falcon residents, concerned about maintaining a community identity, inquired to the United States Postal Service about using Falcon as an official address (we touched on this in last month’s NFH).One of those dedicated Falconites recently presented the NFH with an official letter from the USPS, which states, “I am pleased to inform you the community name of Falcon, Colo., may now be used in addressing mail.”
  • As a side note, when the USPS decided on a post office branch in Peyton, they originally selected a site at Meridian and Highway 24 because they thought the area was Peyton. Too bad they found out otherwise!
  • March 25 was the 50th anniversary of the wonderful world of color television. On March 25, 1954, the Radio Corporation of America began to manufacture color television sets at its Bloomington, Ind., plant. It initially built about 5,000 of these sets, known as the model CT-100 color receiver. They retailed for ,000 apiece.
