Veterans in hospice receive blankets from the Exchange Club
By Don Koveleski
As part of our Americanism pillar of the Exchange Club, lap blankets were donated to Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care. The lap blankets were provided by Kelley LeRoy. Her sister, who lives in Ohio, crocheted the blankets.
How great is it to have donors supporting us from out of state.
Sonya Bergeron of Pikes Peak Hospice appreciated the blankets, which are given to veterans in hospice. We are more than happy to collect more lap blankets to donate; winter is coming so they will be welcome. Contact Theresa at 719-684-4139 and she can provide the dimensions.
On Sept. 11, the Exchange Club of Falcon had the privilege of delivering donuts to our local fire stations ( Falcon Fire Protection District Stations 1 and 3, and Black Forest Station 1) as a small gesture of appreciation for the brave men and women who stand ready to protect our community every day.
Twenty-five years ago, our nation witnessed unimaginable courage and sacrifice. We will never forget the 343 firefighters and the other first responders who gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. Their bravery and selflessness continue to inspire us.
The Exchange Club of Falcon is committed to serving our community, supporting those who serve and making a difference in the lives of others. Today, we proudly say to our firefighters:
Thank you for your courage. Thank you for your service. Thank you for being there when our community needs you most. 🇺🇸
We remember. We honor. We are grateful.
The Exchange Club welcomes community members who would like to learn more about its programs, volunteer, attend a meeting or become involved in its efforts to serve El Paso County. For more information, please call/text Don Koveleski at 719-369-5158 or email exchangecluboffalcon@gmail.com.
