Bartlett Hay and Feed celebrates 40 years

By Robin Widmar

Lonnie and Renee Bartlett marked 40 years in business on June 6 with an anniversary celebration for customers, friends and family at Bartlett Hay and Feed Co. Guests enjoyed grilled burgers and hot dogs; they entered drawings for feed and hay, and spun a prize wheel. Tables and chairs set underneath sunshades provided a place to eat and visit out of the sun.

A Ford pickup similar to the one the Bartletts used when they started the business was also on display. The truck at the event was black while the original hay hauler was white, but Renee said it was otherwise nearly identical.

For the Bartletts, the milestone reflected both hard work and the relationships they have built over four decades in the community. That connection was clear as Renee greeted guests throughout the day with, “It’s so good to see you!”

Visitors at the 40th anniversary celebration of Bartlett Hay could spin the wheel for a prize.

Except for the black color, this truck represented the original hay hauler at Bartlett Hay — the original was white.

With tents providing shade on the event’s sunny day, visitors enjoyed chatting with neighbors and friends.
