Lynne Bliss announces the release of her new historical novel,“Field to Freedom: The James Wenham Story,” now available on Amazon.
Based on the author’s ancestors, “Field to Freedom” follows James and Philadelphia Wenham, who settled in Hebron, Wisconsin, in 1851, after a harrowing journey sparked decades earlier in 1830s Warbleton, Sussex, England.
As the Swing Riots sweep the English countryside — laborers burning threshing machines and demanding justice — the Wenhams faced rising taxes, mounting danger and a devastating personal tragedy. Driven by love, loss and a yearning for a future free from oppression, they chose escape over despair, beginning a journey that reshaped their lives and left a lasting legacy for their descendants.
This stirring novel immerses readers in a world where freedom was earned step by step, year by year, through quiet determination and unshakable courage.
Bliss brings together more than 50 years of genealogical expertise, meticulous research and evocative storytelling in this compelling tale of endurance, upheaval and hope. Holding a Master of Arts degree from the University of Northern Colorado, she continues to transform ancestral threads into vivid, unforgettable narratives.
