Silver Key Senior Services is offering a three-pack of “grab n’ go” frozen meals for seniors who need them at High Prairie & Calhan libraries, and delivering three-pack “grab n’ go” frozen meals for seniors who need the meals in Falcon, Peyton and Calhan. Black Forest AARP

The Senior Social is the fourth Wednesday of each month, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall at the Black Forest Lutheran Church. Meridian Ranch Recreation Center — October

Free tutoring in reading
Children’s Literacy Center offers free one-to-one tutoring for children reading below grade level. Children are matched with trained volunteer tutors from the community, and meet twice a week for an hour each session. Equine education class
On the third Sunday of every month, from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30, the Iron Horse Christian Youth Ranch will host an equine class on a variety of topics, with guest speakers. English Country Dance

The Eastern Plains Reining Horse Association is a nonprofit affiliate of the National Reining Horse Association. Nov. 2: Veterans Parade
The annual Veterans Parade will take place Nov. 2 in downtown Colorado Springs. The Exchange Club invites the Cub Scouts and the American Heritage girls to join them and the club provides 2 to 3,000 flags for the two groups to hand out before the parade.“We call it, ‘Give a kid a flag to wave,’”Koveliski said.
First Annual Murder Mystery Dinner (Save the date)
The Exchange Club will host its inaugural Murder Mystery Dinner at Stillwaters Ranch on Feb. 15, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. The event will feature a dinner catered by the culinary department of Patriot High School, and Red Herring Productions in Colorado Springs will act out the murder mystery while each table tries to solve the murder. The venue holds only 80 people so watch for more details as the date gets closer. The Exchange Club currently seeking sponsors to help cover the costs and ensure a successful event.
FALCON SENIOR SERVICES NEWS
All Falcon Senior Services are available to persons 55 years of age and over.
The Falcon seniors group meets at the Falcon Legacy Campus Patriot High School every month for a lunch social, which is prepared and served by the Patriot High School Culinary Arts and Hospitality students. The campus is located at 11990 Swingline Road. The next luncheon is Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. The theme is “breakfast for lunch.” The menu will consist of scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, O’Brien potatoes, toast, pancakes with fruit toppings, coffee and orange juice.
The PEARLS (Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives) will present information on Alzheimer’s. In recognition of Halloween, attendees are encouraged to wear costumes. Following the program, it’s time for Bingo.
SENIOR EXERCISE PROGRAM
Chair yoga is every Thursday at 10 a.m. at Perfect Fit Wellness Center, 9480 Curtis Road in Falcon.
General exercise classes are available every Monday and Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View. It’s free and it’s energizing!
