Falcon Elementary School of Technology, in conjunction with Mathnasium of Briargate, hosted a Family Math Night on Jan. 19. Kids and their families visited tables set up in the gym to play math games, many of which can be played at home. Tables were designated by grade-level groupings so kids could choose a level appropriate for them. Dedicated staff members manned the tables to guide kids through the activities.Gift bags were provided for the kids, which included a deck of cards and dice that kids could use to play some of the games at home to reinforce their math skills in a fun way. Families enjoyed pizza during the evening and enjoyed the event overall.Research concludes that there is a positive and convincing relationship between parent/family engagement and student success. FESoT provided a wonderful evening for families to be engaged!
