Falcon senior will run at Black Hills State

Sydney Gasper, a senior at Falcon High School has signed the National Letter of Intent with Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota.Sydney will compete in the triathlon program DII level, sponsored by the NCAA (National College Athletic Association).She has been a standout athlete on the cross country and track and field team since her freshman year. As a top runner in Colorado, Sydney excelled during the 2020 cross country season, leading her team to a championship in the Colorado Springs Metro League-North. Individually, she finished second at the league meet and 12th at the regional meet. Sydney was the Falcon High cross country captain her junior and senior year.Her coaches, Nathan Borchers and Harley Nunan, are proud of her accomplishments and commend her for her consistent hard work and dedication to the team for the past four years.ìSydney is a very skilled athlete and an exceptional student,î said Connie Feist, head coach at Black Hills State University. ìHer running background combined with a strong endurance base make her a perfect fit for our highly competitive team. We expect that she will thrive in our multi-sport training program and become very successful as an NCAA triathlete.î
