Chamber news

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting Aug. 1, and it was sponsored by Richard Kiedinger with Allstate insurance. Richard was also a guest speaker, along with Jeff Petersma from the Falcon Fire Protection District.Richard presented information on the benefits of working with Allstate. One great takeaway from his presentation was a reminder to check coverage on a regular basis, especially to know how much you are covered on the liability side of your insurance. The second speaker was Jeff Petersma from the FFPD, which gave the chamber another chance to hear more about the FFPD if they were unable to attend the after hours event at the fire station last month. This presentation added information on how the Falcon fire district operates and the current goals of the fire district. One goal is to have their own ambulance service that would help reduce their overall response times. Currently, they are partnering with AMR but would like to have their own that would primarily service Falcon. The next meeting of the chamber will be Sept. 5, and the El County Colorado School District 49 Zone leaders will be presenting. If you or your organization would like to be part of the Eastern Plains Chamber or you would like to be a speaker at an upcoming meeting, contact board@easternplainschamber.com.The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce meets the first Wednesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View in Falcon.Chamber After HoursThe New Falcon Herald will host the Eastern Plains Chamber After Hours Sept. 19 at Guadalajara, beginning at 5:30 p.m.†Current and potential chamber members are invited to attend.†Call Michelle at 719-484-0384 for details.
