New owner at long-standing salon

Kelsey Ciesielski graduated from high school in Falcon School District 49 in 2012. She attended the Paul Mitchell school in Colorado Springs; and, after graduating and receiving a license in cosmetology (which includes skin, hair and nails) she worked at Clips in Falcon and also with Aveda. In just four short years, Kelsey has built a clientele and a business portfolio as the new owner of the Black Forest Salon!Ciesielski purchased the salon, which has been serving the Black Forest community for 16 years, in June. The salon is also the only storefront salon in Black Forest.The salon, which mirrors a cabin on the inside (and provides a ìsmall-town cozy feel,î Ciesielski said), houses two other licensed cosmetologists besides Ciesielski. Melanie Risigner and Bri Garner offer a wide variety of services to their customers, including nail care like manicures, pedicures and shellac and gel nails; and waxing, too.The store has expanded to three stations, and just started offering menís cuts for $15. Perms have been added to the services menu as well.Ciesielski said she enjoys coloring hair, especially in the new ìvibrant colors like pinks and blues.îThe salon is open Monday through Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ó Sundays the salon is closed. Ciesielski said she will accommodate clients who need appointments after hours. Although they try to squeeze in walk-ins, they prefer that clients make appointments. Check out the store at
