International leaders from the regenerative agriculture and permaculture industry will be in Calhan in September. The first National Regenerative Agriculture Conference will be held at Freeman Family Farm. The conference will feature discussions on urban farming, pasture-raised poultry, beekeeping and homesteading.ìWe all have a choice in our lives: to work with the patterns of nature or against them,î said Doneil Freeman, event host. ìRecently, a group of passionate, driven and innovative individuals have come together with a mission to take action to regenerate their land and their lives through animal husbandry, plant propagation, earthworks and water works ñ small ranch operations to urban farming.îThe conference will be held Sept. 1 through Sept. 4.Some speakers scheduled to attend include Curtis Stone, owner of Green City Acres in British Columbia and author of ìThe Urban Farmer;î Jack Spirko, host of ìThe Survival Podcast;î Michael ìThe Bee Whispererî Jordan; and Justin Rhodes, homesteading YouTube host and documentary filmmaker of ìPermaculture Chickens.îStone said the conference will offer attendees a chance to network and ìfind camaraderie with people who are doing similar things.î For more information about the event, visit http://regenerativeagriculture.farm.
