Rock Solid Chiropractic’s annual 5K Walk/Run/Kid’s Dash and Business Expo to benefit the High Plains Food Pantry will take place July 16, from 7 a.m. to noon.Runners and walkers will participate in their event in the morning at Rock Island Park, from 7 to 9 a.m. The event then moves to the Walmart parking lot area behind the Auto Zone. There will be prizes, music, food and the El Paso County Sheriffís Office will have their K-9 unit, smoke house, trinkets for the kids and possibly the equine unit.Businesses or runners/walkers who wish to participate should contact Theresa Bell at 719-323-3921. All proceeds go to the High Plains Food Pantry. Feel free to bring canned goods as well.The Community Watch Team will be collecting cash donations to help buy vests for the sheriffís K9 unit. The vests cost from $1,200 to $1,500 per dog so please consider a donation.
