Seconds count in an emergency, but help can be delayed if address numbers are not clearly marked. Follow these tips to help emergency responders:
- Address numbers should be easily seen at all times of the day or night, and from all directions.
- Numbers should be at least 4 inches tall and contrast with the background color. Reflective numbers are easier to see at night.
- For long driveways or access roads that serve multiple addresses, post all house numbers at the driveway entrance and then post each address at the corresponding driveway fork.
