Brandon Krause-Mahan, a seventh-grader from Peyton, was part of the Monument Blizzard Pee Wee football team that beat the Loveland Titans 6-0 in overtime at the Colorado State Championship Nov. 14. Brandon is a captain and starter for various positions. The Monument Blizzard team has earned a trip to Dallas to play for the Southwest Regional Championship. A win in Dallas would send the team to Walt Disney World in December to compete for the national championship. While a tough football player, Brandon maintains a 95.9 GPA and participates in other sports as well. The remainder of the team hails from Colorado Springs, Franktown and Monument. The coach is Peyton resident Sasan Sattari and Black Forest resident Joshua Vasconcellos.
