The Leaky Mug mobile coffee shop opened for business Sept. 28 at 11775 Meridian Market View, in a field in the Falcon Highlands Marketplace, just west of Auto Zone. Owners Chris and Sharon Diffenderfer are leasing land to have a ìgroundedî spot for customer convenience, but they also plan to travel to various events with their mobile coffee shop.Erich and Nathan Diffenderfer, the children of Chris and Sharon Diffenderfer, co-own the business with their parents. The younger Diffenderfers have experience in the food service industry, Chris Diffenderfer said.The coffee shop offers hot and iced coffee, hot and iced tea, hot chocolate and smoothies. ìWe have a custom hot chocolate recipe that uses white chocolate, or you can get a mix of regular and white hot chocolate, which we call a zebra,î Diffenderfer said. ìWe also serve iced tea with different syrups, which people really seem to like.îDiffenderfer said he and his family have dreamed of owning a coffee shop for many years; they were finally able to secure funding to make it happen. Ultimately, their goal is to have a kiosk or brick-and-mortar coffee shop, he said.The family has lived in Woodmen Hills for 10 years so opening a shop in Falcon made sense, Diffenderfer said.The coffee shop is open Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and it is closed on Sundays.
