The Woodmen Hills Metropolitan District held its second annual small business expo in the parking lot of the Recreation Center East Sept. 12.Lynne Bliss, WHMD board president, said the community turned out for the event, although attendance was down from last year.Tabitha Barile, assistant parks and recreation director, said 32 vendors signed up for the expo but a few did not show up. A pizzeria from Woodland Park, Gypsy Pizzeria, was a big hit, Barile said.Jimmy Johnís Gourmet Sandwiches in Falcon handed out free sandwiches, and WHMD employees gave temporary tattoos to kids as they awaited their turn for the bounce house.Amber Lane, Woodmen Hills resident, said she brought her Rodan + Fields business to the expo to support the community and drum up interest in her business. She and fellow consultant Erin Kinder said they had a good time and will come back for the expo again next year.ìThe vendors are great, and everyone had a great time,î Bliss said.
