They compared 50 states and the District of Columbia across 25 key metrics, ranging from emotional health to income levels to sports participation rates.Colorado ranked No. 4 overallThe top three: Utah ranked No. 1 overall; Minnesota took the No. 2 spot; and Hawaii came in at No. 3.Colorado came in at No. 3 for emotional and physical well-being; No. 18 for work environment; and No. 8 for community, environment and recreational opportunities.Colorado ranked No. 2 in the adequate sleep category and No. 3 in low rates of obesity (Washington D.C. and Hawaii came in No. 1 and 2 respectively in the obesity category).Coloradoís rank as the state with the highest sports participation is No. 1.Of note: West Virginia was the lowest ranked at No. 50 in the overall category.Utah is the only state with multiple No. 1 rankings in the categories.
