Area folks turned out to enjoy Black Forest’s Flealess Flea Market in September. Proceeds from the event, held at the Black Forest Community Center, benefited three local animal rescues: Harleyís Hope Foundation, Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Southern Colorado’s Animal Rescue.
People enjoyed finding a bargain or two, while the kids enjoyed a petting zoo and face painting. Others indulged in a goodie from the bake sale or taste-tested the chili.
Black Forest resident 10-year-old Sierra Van Pelt snuggled with her ìfavoriteî bunny at the event. 
Seven-year-old Lauren Van Pelt, from Black Forest, enjoyed time with the ponies from the Black Forest Animal Sanctuary.
Connor Curtis, age 4, from Fountain, had his face painted like a dragon.
