Founded in 2005,†National Cat Day†was created to bring attention to the number of cats in need of adoption. It is a sad fact that roughly four million cats are rescued or enter shelters every year, and about half of them are euthanized. Cats are amazing animals that provide unconditional love, and it is a shame they often times get overlooked.†Even if you can’t own a cat yourself for whatever reason, you can still make an impact by volunteering at local pet†rescues. It is proven that spending time with a cat can lower blood pressure and increase happiness levels ó so playing with a cat is a win-win situation for all.http://nationalcatday.com
