The Black Forest Festival 2015

The annual Black Forest Festival is Aug. 15 at the northwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest roads. The event kicks off with a pancake breakfast, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m.A parade, scheduled at 10:30 a.m., will offer plenty for the youngsters and the oldsters.At noon, a memorial dedication ceremony in honor of Black Forest firefighters will take place at the log school park (the northwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest roads. The ceremony includes guest speakers, an invocation, Amazing Grace performance and a dove release.8 a.m. to 3 p.m., enjoy the following: artisan, nonprofit and business booths; alpaca and mini horses and an interactive obstacle course; a petting zoo sponsored by 4-H; demonstrations plus ìmake and takesî11:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.: music by the U.S. Air Force Wild Blue country band11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.: games for the kids12:30 to 3 p.m.: old fashioned games and a dunk tankCommunity friendship boothThe Black Forest Festival Aug. 15 is sure to be a memorable day ó with a parade plus plenty of activities and things to see and do. If your legs get weary and need a place to rest during the day then consider stopping for a while at the Community Friendship Booth on the southwest corner of Shoup and Black Forest Road. The Black Forest Community Church and the Black Forest AARP Chapter will provide a place for you to sit and chat and perhaps have a free cup of ice tea or coffee. No obligations. All are welcome.
