Falcon Girl Scout Troop 1229 and 3080 took time out of a Saturday in March to help out at the Southern Colorado Animal Rescue Black Forest Animal Sanctuary. The Weston Family, from Elizabeth, Colorado, were happy to adopt two horses from the Southern Colorado Animal Rescue Black Forest Animal Sanctuary. Candice and David took home Austin (not pictured) and Sinatra (named for his blue eyes). Sinatra will serve as a starter pony for their two children, 4-year-old Savannah and Brody, age 5. Sinatra was rescued last summer after the owner could no longer care for the horse and called the Black Forest Animal Sanctuary. Sinatraís hooves were so overgrown, Tracy Berry, sanctuary operator, described his hooves as ìelf shoes.î The ponyís hooves were so curled he began walking on the back of his hooves and strained his leg muscles.
