Eastern Plains Chamber of CommerceThe chamber met Jan. 7, with Mike Humphreys, business development consultant for the Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado, as the featured speaker. Humphreys discussed discovering the real reason behind establishing oneís own business, along with the benefits of BBB membership. There will be an after-hours membership mixer in February, which will be posted on the chamber’s website: http://easternplainschamber.com.Cheryl DeGeorge, principal of Falcon High School, will speak at the regular meeting on Feb. 4. She will discuss a scholarship for Falcon High School students and the Falcon Education Foundation.The chamber meets the first Wednesday of each month at 7 a.m. at Grace Community Church in Falcon.Falcon PEPNetThe Falcon chapter held its annual election in January. Newly elected officers will assume their roles in March. The new officers include Art Pierson, president; Colin Schmeisser, vice president; Christina Trevino, secretary; and Pandora Rose, treasurer.Falcon PEPNet meets every Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. at La Mission Mexican Restaurant.
