On Dec. 13, LnB Connectors held a fundraiser for Saraís Home, a charitable organization based on the eastern plains, at The Pinery in Black Forest, Colorado. Saraís Home provides housing and assistance for underage girls who have been involved in sex trafficking.Lynda Cink, a partner at LnB Connectors, said they wanted to give back to a charity out east since LnB is based in Falcon. ìWe contacted Helping Hands Food Pantry, but they said they were in pretty good shape,î Cink said. ìThen, we heard about Saraís home Ö and thought they would be a great organization to bring some awareness to.î The exact location of the home is not disclosed for security and privacy reasons.LnB Connectors sponsored an arts and crafts fair at The Pinery, which they called the Artistsí Marketplace.î Cink said the event included 50 vendors, about 80 percent crafters and artists and 20 percent other businesses; as well as an auction, with all items going for a quarter; and a $1,000 gift basket door prize.Cink said they raised several hundred dollars for Saraís Home, but more importantly brought awareness to the charity. ìThere is now a high school girlsí volleyball team planning a fundraiser, and one of the MaryKay consultants is going to go over and do makeovers to help build the girlsí confidence,î she said. ìWe had some products donated to them, like bath items. The event turned out to be a great marketing tool for them.î Cink said the community pulled together for the organization. ìSprings City Dance Force came out and put on two recitals for folks. They were really amazing,î she said.Cink said she is planning on sponsoring more events for Saraís Home. She would like to make the Artisan Marketplace an annual occurrence. For more information on Saraís Home, visit http://sarahshome.us/.
