In a recent article posted in The New Falcon Herald, the legal representative Evan Ela of Collins-Cochran-Cole made several statements referring to the billing mistakes as it relates to billing customers. Some facts that were left out that pertains explicitly to who knew what and when did they know it?Woodmen Hills took over the billing authority when their case settled with Paintbrush Hills. The onus then fell to Woodmen Hills’ billing staff.Evan states that ìlittle noticeî was given to the affected parties to protest the bills. Was this done intentionally? Or a direct result of mistakes made by the billing staff of WHMD? How did such lack of oversight get into the fray, we may never know. The excuse given refers to a ìsoftwareî issue or blames other factors for justification when the real reason is poor training on the district’s part. So, who is to blame? One factor relates to employees hired as a result of nepotism and not based on actual experience.Director Kreps attempts to blame the numerous errors or mistakes on ìtrainingî or lack thereof. The duty ultimately falls to the board of directors who dropped the ball big time. After 5 years of out of control expenditures and operating costs, the Park and Rec is a losing proposition. Director Pizzi was wrong! She claimed 5 years ago she could ìdo it cheaper.í It only cost residents hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional operating expenses and increased monthly dues and the loss of a beloved employee, Stan Burgess. Stan Burgess was the architect of the budget for the Park and Rec after the elimination of the YMCA. You see, Stan Burgess had decades of experience in budgeting for Park and Recs but Director Pizzi ordered Mr. Burgess to not have contact with a resident or else! Stan took his experience to Meridian Ranch where they welcomed him with open arms. Meridian Ranch is doing a thriving business.Ron PaceWoodmen Hills
