Oct. 31 through Nov. 3, the Black Forest Community Center hosted the Black Forest Fall Show and Sale, sponsored by the Black Forest Arts and Crafts Guild. The guildís 49th show opening day drew record crowds, with folks lined up toward the back of the building to purchase their finds. Christmas dÈcor, as well as baked goods, were popular this year. Pottery, paintings, knitted goods and handmade jewelry presented plenty of choices for buyers. The craft guild members usually designate a portion of their sales to the guildís scholarship fund. Sally Burr, scholarship organizer, said the guild donates $1,000 each year to a Black Forest student. Taylor Fogg, who is attending Columbia University in New York, was the 2013 scholarship recipient.
