Follow up on chiefs

More than two months after three chief officers were placed on paid administrative leave for unspecified reasons, two are now back on duty while one remains on leave (as of this publish date).Following the executive session at the June 19 board meeting, the Falcon Fire Protection Board of Directors voted unanimously to have Trent Harwig, fire chief, immediately return to work from administrative leave.The board also advised the public that it would not be taking action with respect to Jeff Petersma or Cory Galicia, battalion chiefs, who were also on leave.Petersma went back to work June 22. As of June 26, Galicia remained on paid leave. Results of the investigation by Mountain States Employers Council have not been disclosed.Harwig issued the following statement: ìI would like to thank the Fire District Board for their vote of confidence in me and in my management of this District. We will take the lessons learned and information provided by Mountain States Employers Council and move forward from here. Iím confident this Fire District and its members will be stronger than ever. Our constituents deserve no less.î
