Banning Lewis school receives governor’s award

The Banning Lewis Ranch Academy in Falcon School District 49 was awarded a Governorís Distinguished Improvement award for 2012. The Colorado Department of Education presented the awards to recognized schools Dec. 18.The 2012 Governorís Distinguished Improvement award is presented to schools that exceed expectations on the three-year school performance frameworkís indicator related to academic growth.ìThis award is representative of hard work on the part of our students, parents and staff,î said Andy Franko, principal at Banning Lewis Ranch Academy.ìOur humanities based instructional approach, along with a clear understanding of our studentsí strengths and challenges, has allowed us to best meet the needs of our learners. We are extremely proud of our students, teachers, support staff and families who continue to work to improve Banning Lewis Ranch Academy.BLRA is a K-8 elementary and middle charter school providing a college preparatory program.
