In November 2014, the Department of Veterans Affairs will move into a new outpatient clinic at 955 West Fillmore St. in Colorado Springs, replacing the current clinics on Spruce and Fontanero streets. At 76,000 square feet, the new clinic will have more than twice the square footage of the old clinics combined. The additional space will allow the VA to provide radiological, mental health, dental, substance abuse, audiology and physical therapy services, as well as maintain a pharmacy, laboratory and facilities for home-based primary care. The 18-acre site at the corner of Centennial Boulevard and West Fillmore will include space for an area dedicated to compensation and benefit exams, along with a veterans’ business center. The VA is leasing the new clinic for 20 years. Congress authorized $10 million for the new clinic in April 2011.
