Boy Scout Troop 149 once again participated in the annual Scouting for Food drive to help fight hunger. The Scouts distributed flyers to houses in the Falcon area in April and then followed up by picking up bags of food left for them by residents. In 2011, the troop donated 2,830 pounds of food to the High Plains Helping Hands food pantry. This year, they broke local records by collecting just over 4,000 pounds. HPHH serves the eastern plains area, including Falcon, Peyton, Calhan and as far east as Limon. HPHH would like to thank Boy Scout Troop 149 for their support and providing for those in need in their community.
