The Better Business Bureau of Southern Colorado Foundation and its accredited businesses are offering two, one-year scholarships in the amount of $2,500.To be eligible, applicants must be a high school senior, graduate in 2012, be enrolled in a college or university in the state of Colorado in the fall, have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and live in one of the 25 counties served by the BBB of SC.Applicants are required to submit a biography or resume, a 1,000 word essay about ethics based on a scenario they are given and a letter of recommendation from a high school counselor, teacher or principal.Interested students may download an†application from the BBB Web site at http://southerncolorado.bbb.org/scholarship or call Blair Reeves at 719-636-5076 ext. 116 to request an application and get more information.The deadline for entry is 5 p.m. Friday, June 29. Application materials may be sent by mail to 25 N. Wahsatch, Colorado Springs, CO 80903 or faxed to 719-636-5078.Representatives from the BBBís Foundation trustees will serve as judges. The two scholarship recipients will be notified by phone on Sept. 3 and must show proof of college enrollment before the check is issued.Checks will be presented and the winners honored at the BBBís Night of Excellence dinner on Thursday, Sept. 27 at The Antlers Hilton in Colorado Springs.
