Doggie wash in Falcon

Bubbles-n-Bones, a self-serve dog-shampoo business for dog owners, opened its doors at the beginning of March. Owner Lana Richardson said the shop also offers top quality dog and cat food, treats, toys and some products for horses. The idea for Bubbles-n-Bones stemmed from Richardsonís involvement with dog agility training and her Web site, where she sells dog toys that she makes. She has two Australian shepherds; the female is an agility dog.Richardson, who has lived in the Falcon area since 1990 with her husband, Glenn (ìSkipî), said a grand opening is scheduled April 21. ìWeíre going to be giving away samples, door prizes; and I’m hoping to have my agility instructor do a small seminar,î she said. ìWe’ll also have food for the people to eat and treats for the dogs.î Richardson said she also hopes to demonstrate a dog ìpoweredî scooter at the grand opening. ìIt’s a really awesome way to exercise your dog,î she said. ìI don’t think most people understand it so I thought it might be good for people to see how that works. I’ve had one for about three years.îThe two main dog foods sold at the store are Champion Pet Foods and Nature’s Variety. ìWe got into these brands because we have a dog with a lot of digestive issues,î Richardson said. ìWe want to put things on our shelves that we know and trust.îBubbles-n-Bones is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday; closed on Sundays. As the business is established, Richardson said they plan to extend the hours.Located at 11151 East Highway 24 in Falcon, Bubbles-n-Bones is on the same property that housed Richardson’s Western Supply and Trailer Sales, which is no longer in business.
