A mysterious murder took place in Black Forest Feb. 18 at the Inn in Black Forest. Not a real murder.Red Herring Productions performed ìMurder in Buffalo Chip,î set in the 1880s. It was a ìwho-dun-itî western, with the murder of the sheriff of Buffalo Chip, Colo., as the main theme. Outlaws, mountain folk, Indians, gamblers, church goers, ranchers and gunslingers performed to the delight of the audience.Participants then divided up in groups and wrote a story ñ based on the clues provided ñ about which one of the four subjects murdered the sheriff. The production also included a dinner previous to the performance, and it might return again in June at the Inn in Black Forest to stage a mystery specific to Black Forest.
