The First & Main Summer Concert Series is more than music. The concert series began in 2004 and has grown over time, adding all kinds of fun family activities: jugglers, balloon artists, booths, food, a petting zoo, a bounce house, face painting and free prizes.”This year, we have a bigger schedule,” said representative Gina Artioli. “Last year, we broke all previous attendance records with 1,781 people; and, the year prior to that, there was lightening and rain, but we still had over 600 people attend.”The free event takes place in front of the Cinemark Theatre at the First & Main shopping center on Powers Boulevard. The series started in June and ends in July.”We work hard to make this a wonderful outdoor recreational activity for families during the summer months,” Artioli said. “Sort of a stay-cation that is fun and affordable for everyone.”The annual Summer Concert Series 2010 will feature blues, rock, country and oldies music from local artists every Friday night, from 5 to 7 p.m. through July 30. * July 9: Martini Shot* July 16: George Whitesell & his All Stars, featuring Jill Watkins* July 23: Brickyard* July 30: Arch HooksFor more information about the concert series, visit www.firstandmaintowncenter.com/html/ConcertSeries.html
