Peggy Evon Marriott was born March 10, 1945, in Lamar, Colo., to Sam and Inez (Harp) Perkins. On April 27, Peggy passed away at Penrose Main due to complications from her courageous fight with Leukemia AML.During her elementary school years, Peggy attended May Valley. She graduated in 1963 from Lamar High School, where she was active in 4-H. Peggy attended Clover Meadow Church of God, where she made her personal profession of faith to the Lord.In April 1964, Peggy married her life partner and best friend Jerry D. Marriott in Lamar, Colo. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1965 and then to Falcon in September 1971. They have lived in the same home for 38-plus years.Peggy ran a day care center for 20 years. She volunteered with the Women’s Falcon Fire Department Auxiliary, Falcon Elementary School, High Way Baptist Church (Falcon Baptist Church) and her women’s Bible study group. She liked to read, spend time with family and friends and exercise at Curves in Falcon.Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had three children, Rodney and twins Dana and Daniel. She was preceded in death by her son, Daniel, in 1974, her parents Inez in 1986 and Sam in 1988.Surviving is her husband of 46 years, Jerry of Falcon; son Rodney of Pueblo; daughter Dana Weeks (Glenn); granddaughter Ariel Marriott of Colorado Springs and step-grandson Justin Weeks of New York. She is survived by siblings Elsie Howland, Lamar; Lucille (Ken) Dawson, Granada; Keith (Susan) Perkins, Pueblo West; Patty (Mark) Rees, Lamar; Beverly (George) Hazel, Salida; Sandy (John) Howard, Canon City; Jackie (Jake) Mulberry, Canon City, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.Peggy and her family were grateful for the kind, courteous and gracious staff that took care of her at Penrose Main Hospital. A Celebration of Life for Peggy was held May 3 at Falcon Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Penrose-St. Francis Cancer Center.
