Ent donates to D 49 foundation

At the grand re-opening celebration of its larger Falcon Branch on Saturday, April 24, Ent Federal Credit Union presented a $2,500 donation to the Falcon Education Foundation.Started by Dr. Mark Maksimovicz, former Falcon School District 49 superintendent, the Falcon Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization that helps raise money to support students and teachers who display “out-of-the-box thinking,” said Joan DeWitt, foundation board member. Previous teacher-created projects the foundation has sponsored include a frog farm and “books and bags,” a program designed to inspire children to read more at home. Students can also apply for grants to help pay for conferences or camps they wish to attend.Ent, a community chartered credit union touting 5,200 members in the Falcon area alone, felt this contribution would be a great way to celebrate its re-opening, said James Moore, senior vice president of corporate communication. “We try to find programs that reflect (the) areas members are interested in and that improve their quality of life,” Moore said.
