2010 El Paso County fair queen crowned

On March 6, 19-year-old Peyton resident Brenna Harfert was crowned 2010 El Paso County Fair Queen during a ceremony at the El Paso County Fairgrounds in Calhan. Brenna expertly navigated the qualifying criteria ñ public speaking, horsemanship and personal interview ñ en route to capturing the title of fair queen.Brenna’s former accomplishments include Plainsmen & Fiber Friends 4-H Clubs, Future Business Leaders of America, National Honors Society and Boys and Girls Club tutor. Her resume also includes 2009 Grand Champion Senior Round Robin Showman, Calhan Lion’s Club Student of the Month Award, Who’s Who Among American High School Students, Alpha Lambda Delta and Dean’s List at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Brenna also held several offices in high school and the FBLA group. Additionally, Brenna has enjoyed participation in the Pikes Peak Rangerettes for the past four years.Brenna is the daughter of Terry and Lori Harfert and a 2009 Peyton High School graduate. She is currently a student at Colorado State University-Pueblo majoring in Business Management with a minor in Liberal Studies. Among her future ambitions, Brenna would like to operate a tutoring center for children who require extra assistance with their studies.The 105th Annual El Paso County Fair will be held July 24-31 in Calhan.
