On Sunday, June 14, Post 2008 will have its second annual picnic at Black Forest Regional Park (Pavilion #1), at noon. This year, Post 2008 invited the Gold Star Families to picnic with them. It is also the Gold Star Mothers second annual picnic. Any American Legion member interested in attending the picnic, please R.S.V.P. by Monday, June 8, to the Post 2008 commander or to any post officers with the number of people in your party and what you are bringing (side dish, desert, or salad). Post 2008 will provide the meat, drinks (alcohol is not allowed at the park) and condiments.The American Legion Post 2008 in Falcon meets at the Falcon fire station off of Meridian Road. The group meets the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. New members from the Falcon/Peyton area are welcome. The American Legion is the oldest military affiliated organization in the U.S. Retired, active and past members of the U.S. military are eligible for membership. The American Legion wants support in membership, camaraderie and public service to our community. Dues are $40 per year.
