The Small Business Development Center will hold workshops in June:
- “The Feeling Good Workshop,” Tuesday, June 9, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $25. This workshop reviews how personal lives impact the success of business lives. Know how and what behaviors to grasp in developing positive and realistic behaviors. Understand processes and time-tested principles to gain self-esteem, and achieving and maintaining the confidence needed to take your business to a new level.
- “Funding Your Business,” Thursday, June 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $15. Designed for businesses looking for money to start or expand their business. Taught by a local banker this workshop covers topics such as business loans over $100,000, micro loans and SBA loans. This workshop will address what lenders look at, preparing your loan package and how to negotiate a loan.
- “Selling For Success,” Tuesday, June 16, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The cost is $39. Discover new success in a downturn economy? New insights are taken on finding success through the name of the game in business – selling. Learn how the art of selling will transform your personal self to a business success model. This sales training seminar is real world, real time driven to get you and your business on the fast track to success.
- “Payroll 101 and Employee versus Independent Contractor,” Wednesday, June 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. The workshop is free, compliments at ENT, and will be held at 7350 Campus Drive, Colorado Springs. This seminar will provide information on how to calculate and complete payroll checks, payroll taxes, payroll tax returns and payroll tax deposits. It will also cover the issue of whether a worker is considered an employee or an independent contractor and the penalties associated with misclassification.
