Odyssey Elementary School received a $5,000 Teach Award from Best Buy Co. Inc. for integrating interactive technology into its classroom curriculum.Located in Falcon School District 49, OES developed an elementary level robotics program during the 2006-2007 school year. The program provides students with hands-on activities while challenging their critical thinking and problem solving skills. Students use LEGO Mindstorms NXT robotics sets and accessories to practice and apply skills learned in many different subject areas; mainly science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Students learn the basics about robotics and advance toward completing engineering design challenges.
