Dan Vetrano, owner of Dan’s Trash Service, contributed information to the article “Serving Falcon’s trash needs.” Dan recently died in a traffic accident, and the following are thoughts about Dan submitted by El Paso County Commissioner Amy Lathen.”There are many volunteers in El Paso County. Few can be described as passionate and hardworking as Dan Vetrano. He was a fun-loving, caring and driven individual who gave everything to the El Paso County Fair and Events Complex through his volunteer hours, talent and personal resources. As a member of the fair advisory board and president of the Resource Development Association, Dan was deeply committed to the fair and to 4-H programming in the county, as well as being instrumental in getting the El Paso County Speedway up and running so that our fair would be self-sustaining. Dan truly put his money where his mouth is.I am deeply saddened by this tragic loss and wish to say thank you. Thank you, Dan, for everything you’ve done for El Paso County. You will be greatly missed.”Amy LathenEl Paso County Commissioner, District 2520-6412
