October Youth of the Month honored

The Exchange Club of Falcons’ Youth of the Month awards recognize hard-working high school students who attain high levels of scholastic achievement, community involvement and leadership. At the Oct. 21 meeting, the club honored Annisija Mallin with their Youth of the Month for October. Mallin ranks second in a class of 282 students and holds a 4.244 GPA. With a future goal of Professor of Music, Mallin’s college major is Viola Performance and she will minor in Geology. Mallin has a long list of advance placement classes, which include chemistry, calculus, U.S. history and government. She is a member of the National Honor Society, and her awards include 2008 Congressional Research Student, Leadership Conference, Society of Women’s Engineers Award recipient, Colorado All State Choir and Orchestra, Western States Honor Orchestra, Falcon High School German Award, 2008 Mathematics Award and performer at Solo Ennoble. She is president of her church youth group, youth food coordinator, volunteers for Care and Share, is a Cub Scout Day Camp Leader and teaches piano to children ages 7 to 11. Mallin was presented with a savings bond and a plaque honoring her as the award recipient.On Oct. 13, members of the Exchange Club of Falcon presented the Child Abuse Prevention Donation for Baby Safety Month to the directors of KPC Kids’ Place. The $250 donation included jars of baby food, apple juice, boxes of cereal, teething crackers, baby wipes, Desitin diaper ointment and “Baby on Board” car window signs.
