The State Bank has had reports of a scam targeting bank patrons. Christel Blaylock, assistant vice president, said the scam was first reported in June. She said an automated phone system called patrons and asked for personal account information. “Be aware of this scam,” Blaylock said.”Three customers have reported the scam, but there might be many more out there who haven’t reported it to us.”The automated phone system used by The State Bank, RediPhone, only allows patrons to call for their account information. With the RediPhone system bank employees do not call patrons. Blaylock said to call the bank immediately if someone calls posing as a bank representative trying to get personal information.
