Proceeds benefit the Shivers Fund at Pikes Peak Library District. The concert will be held at the Antlers Hilton Hotel, 4 S. Cascade Ave. Please RSVP by Wednesday, May 21. Through the Fund the Shivers have brought visual and performing arts from around the country to the Pikes Peak region, and have encouraged the appreciation and talents of youth in the arts. Free Comic Book Day at East Teen CenterThe East Teen Center at Pikes Peak Library District will present its first “Free Comic Book Day” on Saturday, May 3 from noon-5 p.m. Free comic books from Bargain Comics will be given to the first 300 attendees. This free program will include showings of the Japanese animated film by Hayao Miyazaki’s “Spirited Away” at noon and the film “Unbreakable” at 3 p.m.Comic book author and artist John Porcellino will present a comic art workshop from 3 to 5 p.m. Porcellino is the author of dozens of comics and ‘zines, poetry, and books including Perfect Example, The King-Cat Collection, and Thoreau at Walden. No registration is required.All programs will be held at East Teen Center in East Library, 5550 N.
