FirstBank opened its new Falcon branch on Feb. 27. During a ribbon cutting ceremony March 13, senior vice president of FirstBank of El Paso County Gene Contreras talked about the bank’s Colorado roots. “We started 45 years ago in a trailer in Lakewood,” Contreras said. The branch in Falcon is FirstBank’s 120th location.Tom Cline, representative of the Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce spoke briefly at the ribbon cutting ceremony. “Each time a new business joins us, it adds strength to the chamber,” Cline said. He said local businesses are convenient for residents as well. “People don’t have to travel so far,” Cline said.Before cutting the ribbon with Cline’s help, Contraras said, “There is a strong sense of community out here in Falcon. We look forward to being a part of it.”
