Forestry service tree program

The Woodland Park District of the Colorado State Forest Service is offering landowners overstocked tree and shrub seedlings, as well as tree survival accessories at a community event to be held April 25 and April 26.Woodland Park District Forester Andy Pascarella said the forest service, a division of Colorado State University, would sell the seedlings at their office at 113 S. Boundary St. in Woodland Park. The district serves Park, Teller and El Paso counties.”The program is for private landowners who own two or more acres,” Pascarella said.Aspen, Colo., blue spruce, Rocky Mountain juniper, lilac and chokecherry are a few of the 38 species available.Seedlings that were pre-ordered by the April 4 deadline could also be picked up on those days. The hours are Friday 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
