Federal officials have informed the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners that they are establishing an Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office in El Paso County Nov. 1, rather than early 2009, as previously indicated.The local ICE office will include 10 staff. They will investigate illegal aliens in the county’s Criminal Justice Center and also deal with cyber crimes and child pornography and human and drug trafficking.Tanya Burks, realty specialist for the General Services Administration, said the ICE office will be housed in the county building.”I am pleased to see that our joint efforts with our federal and state elected officials will establish a very welcome ICE office here in El Paso County,” said Commissioner Jim Bensberg.
