Falcon School District 49 Transition Services and The Pikes Peak Interagency Transition Team are sponsoring a community resource fair on Wednesday, April 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. for families with adolescents and young adults with disabilities. The fair will be held at the City Auditorium at 221 E. Kiowa in downtown Colorado Springs. (If School District 11 has a snow day on April 16 the fair will be rescheduled for April 30.) There is no charge to attend this event.The fair offers families the opportunity to meet representatives from local agencies, businesses and other resource agencies that provide services for families who have a child with a disability, specifically a middle or high school student. Families of younger children as well as educators are also encouraged to attend.Information will be available on a wide spectrum of resources, such as assistive technology, community and residential services, community education, employment, financial assistance, health/mental health services, recreation and leisure activities, respite care, support and advocacy, transportation, driver’s training and post-secondary education.
