On Sept. 28, the Falcon football team beat the Woodland Park Panthers 27 to 8, giving the team a 5-0 record.Before half time, the Falcons had shut out the panthers with a lead of 20 to 0. Keenan Ballage scored the first touchdown of the game, and Raul Franco kicked a field goal for the extra point.The second touchdown of the game resulted with a pass from quarterback Cade Schulze to Matt DeGeorge, but they failed the score the field goal.The final touchdown of the first half was made by Schulze, who ran the ball into the in zone, with Franco kicking another field goal for that extra point.After half time, the Panthers scored a touchdown with a little over 3 minutes left in the third quarter. They then ran the ball in for two extra points putting the game at 20-8.The Falcons battled the Panthers for the rest of the game and Ballage finally ran in a hand off made by Paul Rotering, which was followed by another extra point by Franco, with1 minute, 30 seconds left in the game.”We played pretty well but had a few mistakes,” said head coach Jason Catron. “We’ll take a win and it feels good to win homecoming and it feels good to be 5 and 0.”
